San Antonio Express News Coverage

Recommending candidates is an old San Antonio newspaper tradition. Each election cycle the Editorial Board of the Express – News interviews dozen of candidates for political offices and judicial benches. Based on that interview and investigation the Board makes recommendations to it readers.

Rosie Alvarado proudly accepts the following endorsement from the Express – News:

Our Judicial Choices for Election Day

For the 438th District Court, we strongly recommend Democrat Rosie Alvarado, 39, who has an extensive background in complex litigation, as well as experience in family law and other matters. While most cases heard on the civil court bench are family law, we need judges who are prepared to handle the more involved tort and personal injury cases. Alvarado has 14 years of legal experience and is well equipped to handle a diverse docket.

The previous legal woes of her opponent, Frances Dunham, which include federal, state and local tax liens, bankruptcies and lawsuits from creditors, are of concern.

This bench is being vacated by Judge Gloria Saldaña, who is retiring.
